Welcome to the Department of Earth, Environmental, and Geospatial Sciences, a gateway to your career in Earth Science Education, Geography, Geographic Information Science, and in the fields of Environmental Sciences. As Lester R. Brown says “No civilization has survived the ongoing destruction of its natural support system. Nor will ours”. It is our intent to prepare you to protect the mother Earth, and meet the demands and challenges of professions in the fields of Earth and Environmental Sciences, and Geography and Geographic Information Sciences. Our faculty members conduct research and teaching activities in various aspects of natural world, ranging from plate tectonics and geospatial analysis to various aspects of global and climate changes. Having a degree in one of our department’s programs can help you build your professional careers in government, the private sector or in non-profit organizations, from teaching, urban planning, environmental conservation and management, to agriculture, healthcare, industry, business, technology, mining, and so much more.
