The Lehman Players

The Lehman Players is a peer health education theater group sponsored by The Student Health Center and the Department of Wellness & Health Education. The Lehman Players perform at New Student Orientation and during health outreach events, such as World AIDS Day programming. Performances are based on college health issues, including HIV and sexually transmitted infections, safer sex, alcohol use, relationships, and healthy decision-making. Meet the Cast

Keyanna Hayes

Senior Keyanna Hayes is a psychology major and a theatre minor. She trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. Hayes has performed on stage and television and starred in an independent film. Hayes is also a member of Black Legacy, the Black Student Union at Lehman College.

Heriberto Oquendo, Jr.

Heriberto Oquendo, Jr. is a City College undergraduate alumnus. He is a trained character actor. He studied acting and voice in the Woody King, Jr. New Federal Theatre Program. He also studied acting, production design, and musical theater at The City College of New York City (CUNY). Some of his performances include Chaste Maid in Cheapside, Reckless, Gallatea, Special People of International Character, The Basset Table, Mental Reservation, The Strindberg Festival, Anomaly: Under Construction, La Reina’s Barriolesque, Viva Bronx Festival, I Remember Mama, Raisin in the Sun, Comedy of Errors. Musical Theatre credits include: Fame, The Wiz, Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, Bye Bye Birdie, Once on This Island, Cabaret. His set design/lighting design/costume design/ stage make-up/ stage management experience include: The Wound, Trail of Tears, The King Stag, A Touch of Brightness, Hair, La Reina’s Barriolesque, West Side Story, Once on This Island, Cabaret. His playwright works include Adroit Enough? (Runner-up Met Life Nuestras Voces Competition), Ascension: Walking Towards the Light, For This I Pray, Anomaly: Under Construction. He has performed in the tri-state area including: The Nuyorican Poets Cafe, HERE Theater, Pregones, La Mama, Theater for the New City, and Aaron Davis Hall. He is a trained lyric tenor and has sung in many venues, from community center performances to corporate events.

Natalie Patterson

Junior Natalie Patterson is a mass communications major, concentrating in Journalism, and an international politics minor. She serves as a senator in the Student Conference and is a member of the alpha class of the Student Leadership Initiative, as well as a member of Black Legacy, the Black Student Union at Lehman College. Engagement in activities that have a positive impact on society is important to Patterson. To this end, she has done a great deal of advocacy work, particularly in the adolescent reproductive health field.

Kervin Peralta

Junior Kervin Peralta is majoring in Theatre. He has been part of many professional theatrical productions in New York City and currently works at the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theater in Central Park, where he is a puppeteer and stage manager.

Monique Pettaway

Junior Monique Pettaway is a psychology major and a theatre minor. She is a member of Black Legacy, the Black Student Union at Lehman College, and is interested in performing, singing, and fashion.

Roberto Ventura

Sophomore Roberto Ventura is majoring in theatre, with a double minor in creative writing and dance. He is a member of A.C.E., Rave Club, Club I.N.K., and Black Legacy, the Black Student Union at Lehman College. In his free time, Roberto is a performing artist known as Rebeleagle. He attends a monthly open mic event called "The Urban Juke Joint." He loves to write, dance, and create abstract art.
