Peer Health Educators

The Peer Health Educators are a group of student leaders who carry out the Department of Wellness & Health Education's mission through peer education and event planning and promotion. The PHEs are selectively chosen through an annual Student Affairs application and interview process. Our program is affiliated with The Bacchus Network, a national association of college and university-based peer education programs.

Keyana McPherson

Keyana McPherson is a senior majoring in health education. She enjoys dancing, baking cupcakes, and making delicious meals for her family. Keyana is creative, full of energy, and loves to try new things.

N'man Sakho

N'man Sakho is a sophomore majoring in biology. She is a pre-med student and plans to go to medical school after college to become a pediatrician. She volunteers at Montefiore Medical Center, and during her free time she plays basketball and volleyball.

Valerie Verdejo

Valerie Verdejo is a senior majoring in psychology. She was a member of Student Conference for two years and has written for the Meridian since 2005. Valerie is a movie-buff, and in her free time she enjoys bicycling and swimming.
