The Doctor in Nursing Practice program in Family Nurse Practitioner and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org). Its design includes two specialty areas and four pathways: BS to DNP, Post-Graduate to DNP, PNP to DNP, and FNP to DNP.  It consists of total credits ranging from 39 to 85, including 500 to 1100 internship and capstone clinical hours, depending on the pathway.

The DNP program is a full-time cohort model with classes on one day a week to facilitate academic progression and program completion. At program completion, the BS to DNP and Post-Graduate to DNP graduates are qualified for NYS license as a nurse practitioner and will be eligible to take the certification exam to become nationally board certified.
