Lehman College took center stage at the 2025 Career Services Association of CUNY (CSAC) Conference on April 10 at the CUNY Graduate Center, winning first place for its Career Readiness Program, CED 102: Transformative Strategies for Engaging Students in Career Development. This program is designed to equip students with the skills necessary to plan their careers, explore job options, and prepare for internships and employment essential for career success.

Bascillia Toussaint, director of the Career Explorations and Development Center at Lehman College, co-President of CSAC, and co-chair of this year’s conference, accepted the awards on behalf of Lehman College, saying "We are honored to have received these accolades as they highlight the significant impact of our career success strategies on campus. Our efforts are dedicated to ensuring Lehman students achieve their career goals."

The College also received third place in the Campus Community and Employer Engagement category for its Career-Driven Degree Maps initiative, which aligns academic planning with career goals while deepening partnerships between the College, employers, and broader community.

The year’s conference, themed “Leveling the Playing Field: Career Strategies for an Evolving Workforce,” featured a keynote by Dr. Rob Johnstone, founder and president of the National Center for Inquiry & Improvement, and a presentation by Charles Madsen, Senior Director at CUNY’s Office of Applied Research, Evaluation & Data Analytics (OAREDA), who discussed the importance of data-driven approaches in shaping student success.

Toussaint added, “We will continue to meet the evolving demands of the economy and higher education to provide our students and partners premiere services and support."
