A new theory about ancient footprints suggests that two hominins—extinct species that include the ancestors of Homo sapiens—may have coexisted in sub-Saharan Africa. Professor of Anthropology William Harcourt-Smith commented on the recent analysis of the fossils, published in the journal Science.
