Biography

Misha F. Jemison is an educator from Queens, NY, with nearly 15 years of experience in instruction, social-emotional learning, and school leadership. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology from CUNY Lehman College and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education.
Currently, she serves on the Teaching & Learning Support Team at KIPP NYC and as an adjunct assistant professor at CUNY Lehman College, in the School of Education’s Early Childhood & Childhood Education Department.
As the daughter of Jamaican immigrants and a first-generation American, Misha’s experiences navigating dual-consciousness and socio-political realities that inform her commitment to pursuing and creating joyful, liberatory, and transformative learning opportunities for youth and adult learners. In her free time, Misha enjoys sleeping, traveling, and listening to podcasts about education, current events, self-empowerment, and social issues.
