Two other graduating seniors in Arts & Humanities were awarded Fulbright U.S. Student Program Fellowships in 2019. Edith Carrasco (BA '19) Latin American and Caribbean Studies, and Nolli Gaspar (BA '19) Latin American and Latino Studies, and Anthropology, will both teach English in Mexico in 2019-2020. Meanwhile, Antonio Fernandes (BFA '20), Multimedia Performing Arts, was awarded a Council of International Education Exchange (CIEE) Scholarship to study in St. Petersburg, Russia, this summer. 

Finally, five students in A&H –Diagna Camilo (BA '19) Journalism and Media Studies, Ashley Lum (MHC BA '20) History, Amanda Mendez (BA '22) History, Rehnooma Momo (BA '22) English, and Corina Portes (BA '22) History, French, and Political Science – won the Chancellor’s Global Scholarship from CUNY to study abroad in 2019. 

 

Shanice Crawford (BA '21), a senior pursuing a double major in Philosophy and Political Science, has been named the winner of LegalZoom's first annual Emerging Entrepreneur Scholarship Grant, for $5000.  


Lian Kizner (BA '19), a double major in Dance and Psychology, is the first winner of a $1,000 grant to support an evening-length dance from the B. Wilson Foundation grant organization, which was created by alumna Brittany Wilson (BS '13). To watch her acceptance video, see here.


Whitney Hudson (BS '18) and Carole Martinez (BS '17), both graduates with BS degrees in Computer Graphics and Imaging (CGI) from the Art department, have been hired by pocket.watch, a digital entertainment company based in Culver City, CA. They both worked as interms at the company before being hired.


Mariah Eskoh (BA '17) was accepted to The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute with a Dr. Christopher Roselli One Year Conversatory Scholarship. See her YouTube channel here.


Henry Portillo (BFA '13, MFA 19') was hired as General Media Resources Technician at the Parsons School of Design at The New School.

  • Angela Reynoso (BFA '21) received a City Artist Corps Grant from the New York Foundation from the Arts (NYFA) in conjunction with the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs and the Mayor's Offoce of Media and Entertainment, as well as Queens Theatre, to produce The Love Hate Club, written by Juan Ramirez, Jr., ('08). The show premiered on Friday, October 1, on Theatre Row in New York City as part of the Broadway Bound Theatre Festival. Directed by current Lehman student Simran Pal Kaur, it starred Lucille Vasquez, Angela Reynoso, Christopher Guity, Nadja Gonzalez, and Natasha Collado. Angela Reynoso also directed the film "Love Stings", which was selected for the Conch Shell International Film Festival.
  • Lindsay Huth (Notre Dame, BA '16; University of Maryland, Philip Merrill College of Journalism, MJ '19), a graphics reporter for The Wall Street Journal, took a number of philosophy courses at Lehman College in 2020 remotely and was advised on applications to graduate programs by Lehman faculty; she was accepted to the M.A. program in philosophy at Tufts University. (In 2023, she was accepted to the Ph.D. program in philosophy at Duke University).
