Project Overview

Lehman College requests FY26 capital funding to advance Phase II of the Science Complex, a major construction project identified in the College’s 2004 Master Plan and the next critical step following completion of the new Nursing Facility.

Phase I of the Science Complex—Science Hall—was completed in 2012.

Phase II will:

  • Complete the first major recommendation of the College’s Master Plan,
  • Significantly expanding Lehman’s instructional and research capacity in the sciences,
  • Provide a home for the School of Business and strengthen workforce development and economic opportunity in the Bronx.

The FY26 allocation of $15,000,000:

  • Supports design and pre-construction activities necessary to advance the full Phase II project toward construction.
  • Ensures project readiness, cost control, and continuity in the College’s long-term capital plan.

The design and pre-construction phase includes site planning, architectural pre-design and design development, engineering and building systems design, and coordination of construction documents required to prepare the project for bidding and construction under Phase II.
