Peer Educators @ the Counseling Center

The Peer Counseling Educators are a group of student leaders who carry out the Counseling Center’s mission through peer education and event planning and promotion. During the semester, the Peer Educators organize different activities including weekly workshops, social events, and creative activities. They increase awareness of counseling services through informational tables, groups and workshops. The Peer Counselors are selectively chosen through an annual Student Affairs application and interview process. Our program is affiliated with The Bacchus Network, a national association of college and university-based peer education programs focusing on Mental Health Awareness in College Campuses. To learn more about this new Bacchus and Gamma initiative, see the following PDF document: Introduction to the BACCHUS Mental Health Awareness Campaign.

In order to be a Peer Counseling Educator you must have 60 credits and be available for supervision on Friday mornings or afternoons. Peer Educators provide freshmen students with the opportunity to become acquainted with the Lehman College Community.
