Lehman College’s Zeta Sigma Chapter of Pi Delta Phi, the National French Honor Society, Induction Ceremony

“On Monday, May 13th, 2019, three students were inducted into Lehman College’s Zeta Sigma chapter of Pi Delta Phi, the national French honor society (www.pideltaphi.org). Chapter Moderator Francisco Montaño and Lynne Van Voorhis (emerita), both faculty in the Department of Languages & Literatures, conducted the induction ceremony and conferred the national honor upon the student inductees. Spring 2019 student inductees are: Nora Belhadj, Sarah Jean-Baptiste (in absentia), and Pende Sawadogo. Professors Thomas W. Ihde and Asako Tochika, faculty members in the Department of Languages & Literatures, were inducted as honorary members of the Zeta Sigma chapter in honor of their significant support of and contributions to the study of French at Lehman and in study abroad programs. Inductees benefit from eligibility for generous study abroad and language study scholarships and opportunities, as well as boasting a nationally-recognized honor for their high performance in French coursework and contributions to the study and appreciation of the French language and French-speaking cultures. Félicitations and congratulations to this year’s inductees!”
