
Pharmacy Technician Program
Pharmacy Technician: PTCB-Recognized Education/Training Program
This comprehensive 60-hour program will prepare students to work as a pharmacy technician in a retail or other pharmacy setting and to take the CPhT certification from PTCB. Technicians work in hospitals, home infusion pharmacies, community pharmacies, and other health care settings – working under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
PREREQUISITES
- High School diploma or equivalency.
CERTIFICATE
You must complete all required courses listed with a grade of C or better to earn a Lehman Certificate. To request your Lehman Certificate, please email ce@lehman.cuny.edu with “Certificate Request” as the subject line.
COURSES
- Pharmacy Technician* (PTP 200 / 17 sessions / 60 hours plus optional 80-hour externship / Hybrid)

To be eligible for the Certified Pharmacy Technician exam (CPhT), a candidate must complete one of the following:
Pathway 1: A PTCB-Recognized Education/Training Program (or completion within 60 days).
Pathway 2: Equivalent work experience as a pharmacy technician (min. 500 hours). This alternative path will serve experienced pharmacy technicians who were not in a position to attend a PTCB-recognized program.
