Health Care Workshops: CPR, First Aid and Introduction to Dementia care Online
Clinical content courses are held partially in-person.
CPR: BLS (Basic Life Support) with AED for Health Care Providers
This course meets the requirements for National Certification for CPR from the American Heart Association (AHA). Students learn how to respond to emergencies involving infants, children and adults. They are introduced to lifesaving techniques, rescue breathing, one- and two-person cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and abdominal thrusts. Textbook must be brought to class.
CPR 100 / 1 session / 6 hours
First Aid (AHA Certification)
This course covers the theory and practical skills of the standard first aid course as prescribed by the American Heart Association. Included are the first aid basics, medical and injury emergencies.
MAS17 / 1 session / 3 hours
Introduction to Dementia Care
This introductory workshop provides support for formal and informal care providers for persons living with dementia. With hands-on exercises and guided discussions, the workshop seeks to improve communication, promote connectedness, reduce the impact of challenging behaviors and enhance quality of life for persons living with dementia by focusing on strengths-based care.
