In today’s competitive job market, individuals need not only excellent computer skills, but also the ability to write and speak well and to present a professional, polished appearance. The Administrative Assistant Certificate offers participants the opportunity to acquire these skills.

Prerequisites:

High School diploma or Equivalent (GED/TASC)

Program Courses:

Administrative & Executive Assistant Capstone 

Learn strategies to help you utilize technology within today’s office culture. Using case studies, you will complete real assignments to develop a "portfolio of work" that will represent you as a competent and knowledgeable business professional.

8 sessions / 20 hours / Online

Microsoft Word: Part I

Microsoft Word helps you create a professional-looking document for personal or professional use. This course helps you create it. This course covers basic to intermediate skills of the program from formatting, to setting margins to using tabs and more.

Prerequisites: Microsoft Office Essentials PCW 02 or equivalent experience or training.

CBS 90/ 6 sessions / 15 hours / Online

Microsoft Excel: Part I 

Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet program that is a must for accountants, office workers, and marketing managers. Personal uses include budgeting and data tracking. This course teaches basic to intermediate skills of the program from manipulating worksheets to basic formulas and functions and more. Upon completion of the course, you will have a good level of proficiency with this powerful and versatile program.

Prerequisite: Microsoft Office Essentials PCW 02 or equivalent experience or training.

CFM 60 6 sessions / 15 hours / Online

Microsoft Outlook, Part 1

Using this e-mail and personal information software, you will learn how to read; create; and send e-mail messages; manage messages and their attachments; create appointments and schedule meetings, work with contacts and contact groups; manage address books; customize messages and signatures; and set up automatic replies. Prerequisite: Microsoft Office Essentials PCW 02 or experience or training.

EDP 47 4 sessions / 12 hours / Online

Microsoft PowerPoint

This slide-based presentation software is a necessary tool used by educators and business people alike. Microsoft PowerPoint helps to visually present your ideas and create a colorful story for your audiences using various elements like photos, charts, audio, and video. Prerequisite: Microsoft Office Essentials PCW 02 or equivalent experience or training. PC/laptop camera required.
