Getting a Cast

I had an accident and fell off my bike, and as you might be able to tell, my leg got broken. See how it's sort of up in the air? Well, it's in a very strange setup called traction so that the bone can get better and heal exactly right. Tomorrow I won't need the traction anymore and I'll have a big cast put on instead (for awhile). Look at my stuffed dog very carefully and you'll be able to see what the cast will be like. My student nurse Jeff told me that as the cast dries, it will feel very warm on my leg. Then it will be so hard I can play drums on it. Having a cast means that I'll be able to go home. Yippee!
