Fall 2014

Distinguished Professor John Corigliano to be honored by College Foundation

The Herbert H. Lehman College Foundation will honor John Corigliano - Distinguished Professor of Music, Pulitzer Prize, Academy Award, and multiple Grammy winning composer - at its annual Leadership Awards Dinner. The event, entitled "A Celebration of Excellence" will be held at the New York Botanical Garden on Wednesday, October 29, 2014.



Distinguished Professor John Corigliano's Dylan Thomas Trilogy presented in Swansea, Wales, UK
On October 11, 2014, composer and Distinguished Professor of Music John Corigliano's A Dylan Thomas Trilogy, a full-evening oratorio for soloists, chorus and orchestra, was presented in Dylan Thomas' birthplace, Swansea, Wales, United Kingdom. Grant Llewellyn conducted the Welsh BBC Chorus and Orchestra. Read the review in The Guardian here.

The Johnny Pacheco Latin Music and Jazz Festival runs November 19-21
10am-4pm each day, with additional performances Thursday and Friday evening at 7:30pm.

The Johnny Pacheco Latin Music and Jazz Festival at Lehman College is an annual event which provides performance and learning opportunities for talented young musicians who are studying music in New York City schools. The Pacheco Festival is committed to developing a world-wide audience via live Internet streaming and other forms of broadcast media. More than 250 student musicians perform at the festival each year.

The 2014 Pacheco Festival will be simulcast “live” on Bronxnet Television and via webcast, and is also being presented as part of the Jazz Education Network Virtual Artist Series.
