Art Department

UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM
The Department of Art conducts courses in both studio art (code ART) and art history (code ARH). The Department offers a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Studio Art (38-41 credits), and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History (B.A. 30 credits). It also offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A. 58-60 credits) in Art. Students may earn a B.S. degree in Computer Graphics and Imaging (B.S. 54 credits).  This degree program is interdisciplinary with courses taught in both the Art Department and the Math and Computer Science Department.
Beginning in Spring 2012, all studio courses will be 3 credits, a change from the former 2 credits.  Students majoring in studio art must major in one of the following specializations:
Ceramics, computer imaging, design, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. 

GRADUATE PROGRAM
The Department also offers graduate degrees:  the Masters in Creative Art (MA, 30 credits), a Master of Fine Arts (MFA, 45 credits), and a Masters in Art Education (MA, 42-45 credits) which is taught in conjunction with the Education Department.  The Masters in Creative Art and the Masters of Fine Arts have specializations in ceramics, computer imaging, design, drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture..
