Honor 2000 is both a memorial to those firefighters who have fallen in the line of duty as well as a symbol of the relationship between the firehouse and the community it serves. The work is composed of engraved names commemorating the firefighters lost during this century, a depiction of a life-size fire truck, and two hands, that of an adult and a child, carved in relief. The hands allude to a father and daughter rescued by firefighters from this fire house.
