Registration Information

All continuing Undergraduate and Graduate students register via self-service in CUNYfirst during their assigned enrollment appointment. Assigned enrollment (registration) appointments are for the CUNYfirst system; students are not required to attend in-person registration. Registration information is communicated via email to students’ Lehman email accounts.

New incoming Freshmen students are provided information and transitional support regarding advising, enrollment, and academic guidance through Freshman College. For more information, click here.

New incoming Transfer students must meet with an academic advisor prior to registration for their first term. Students may make an advising appointment online to meet with an academic advisor by clicking here.

If a student encounters a problem and requires assistance, the student may contact the Registrar Office, via email at Registrar.Office@Lehman.Cuny.Edu.

Enrollment Appointments in CUNYfirst

All students are given an enrollment appointment, which can be found online via the student’s Student Center in CUNYfirst. To view your enrollment appointment:

  • Log onto your CUNYfirst account
  • Click on HR/Campus Solutions, then Self-Service, then Student Center
  • On the right hand side of your Student Center, your enrollment appointment will be listed under the “Enrollment Dates” section

If you have a negative indicator (hold) on your account, kindly arrange to have the hold cleared prior to your enrollment appointment to ensure you can register with no issues. You may click on the “Details” button under the “Holds” section of your Student Center to find out more information on the negative indicator and what office you may contact for further assistance.

Registration in CUNYfirst

Students may search and register for their courses online via CUNYfirst. Registration may be completed anywhere with reliable internet access and students may register on/after their assigned enrollment appointment. NOTE: Enrollment Appointments cannot be changed. You must wait until your assigned Date/Time.

Search/Enrolling for Courses:

To search for courses currently being offered, you may use the Search for Classes button, located on the top right hand side of your Student Center. NOTE: Adding a class to your shopping cart does not hold a seat for you and is not enrolling in a class.

Once courses have been placed in your shopping cart/planner, you may proceed with enrolling for the desired courses. For step-by-step instructions on how to enroll for your courses, click here.

Dropping/Swapping Courses

After courses have been added to a student’s schedule, they may be dropped or swapped for a different course within a term. Prior to dropping or swapping a course, all students should consult the Academic Calendar to view drop, refund, and withdrawal period deadlines.

Wait Listed Courses

Students may use the Wait List feature when a course is currently closed. However, not all courses offer a Wait List Option. Students placed on the Wait List will be assigned a position number and will be auto-enrolled based on their assigned number when a seat becomes available. Once a student is auto-enrolled, they will receive an email communication via their Lehman email account. Important: Once you have registered and paid for any semester or session, you are responsible for any fees and academic penalties incurred from registration changes you make. This includes the addition of Session II courses (for summer) and winter courses. You must drop unwanted courses before the first day of classes or you will be liable for the unvalidated/unpaid courses.
