My life has many parts. Like a jigsaw puzzle. Each one of those parts contains a different part of the picture, a fragment of the whole. One of those pieces happens to be that I had cancer. 

Without that experience, I wouldn't be the person I am. The picture would be incomplete. But it's only one piece. A big piece, maybe, but not the whole picture. Not even close. And so I wrote the poems on the next pages, in the hopes that through them, you will learn to:
