PTS3: Title III Funded Program

Pathways to Student STEM Success

The mission of Pathways to Student STEM Success is to create a research-supported coherent and collaborative program that will engage senior and community college students in activities that build their social and cultural capital. This collaboration of three CUNY campuses in the Bronx (Lehman College, Bronx Community College and Hostos Community College) encompasses intensive advisement, mastery of academic content and skills, and participation in activities central to success in STEM fields (sciences, technology, engineering, and math).  Furthermore, through joint planning and collaborative implementation across the participating institutions, PTS³ will address administrative barriers faced by transfer students.  Overall, PTS³ will retain students and increase their academic success, leading to increased numbers of Hispanic and low-income students who graduate with STEM degrees.  In addition, the program will enhance articulation between two- and four-year CUNY institutions in the Bronx and develop student-centered services and activities leading to improved student outcomes in STEM.

PTS³ began as a collaboration between Lehman College and Bronx Community College; Hostos Community College will join in Year Three to extend the model.
