Type of work you do there

I work with the assets management team under the Transportation Planning and Management division. We focus on traffic safety under the Vision Zero initiative which is New York City’s plan for ending traffic deaths and injuries. I use GIS to indicate which street markings need to be updated or are in the process of being updated.

Specific accomplishments of which you are most proud

I am proud of all the hard work I put into receiving my degree, receiving a Master’s degree was a big accomplishment.

Geography or GISc activities and/or accomplishments, awards, internships, publications

I was an intern for the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Department of Environmental Protection, and the Department of Transportation.

Overall assessment of how Lehman’s EEGS Program prepared you for your current life

GIS is essential to my work, and without Lehman's EEGS program I wouldn't have acquired the skills I needed to obtain the opportunities I have now.

Comments on the EEGS Dept Program you were enrolled in

I enjoyed the GISc Master’s program at Lehman, the professors were very helpful and the courses were great.

What else have you been up to?

I finally have time and money to travel! I was in Puerto Rico over the summer and went back home to the Dominican Republic for the winter holidays.
