Adjunct Faculty

Welcome to Middle & High School Education's Adjunct Faculty page at Lehman College. Adjunct faculty are a key members of the college community, enriching the curriculum with their professional experience and scholarly expertise.

On this page, you will find links to a variety of information and resources for adjunct faculty. If you are currently an adjunct faculty member or a prospective adjunct and you do not see what you are looking for, check with the department chair or the program coordinator in your program.

Jennifer Ochoa was named Lehman College’s Adjunct Teacher of the Year in 2020. Jen has been an adjunct instructor in the Department of Middle and High School Education at Lehman College since 2006, teaching pre-service and in-service teachers in the English Education program. Jen's deep knowledge of teaching and learning comes from her experience as a high school and middle school teacher since 1992, both in Lansing, MI and New York City. She currently teaches 8th grade English Language Arts in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan.


Professor Adam Yuro has been an adjunct instructor and co-coordinator of the Foreign Language Program in the Department of Middle and High School Education at Lehman College since 2017. Professor Yuro teaches methodology courses in second language acquisition and supervising student teachers. He derived his instructional expertise from 33 successful years as a secondary level educator of world languages in Westchester County, New York. In addition to teaching at Lehman, Professor Yuro also serves as an independent consultant in world language education at Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES.

The Middle & High School Educaton Adjunct Faculty Handbook is a guide for part-time faculty. Along with general information, it presents important policies and practices related to faculty life in our department. The Adjunct Faculty Handbook is focused on the needs of our teaching faculty in adjunct titles.
