Using Padlet for Student Engagement
About the Workshop: Want to explore ways to engage your students in your classroom? Or increase collaboration amongst your students? Join us for a workshop on using Padlet to help you engage your students and increase collaboration! Padlet (online bulletin board) allows students and teachers to use text, images, videos, files, links; basically anything digital to share ideas and collaborate on projects in real-time or asynchronously. This is a great tool to use for ice-breaker activities, graphic organizers, exit tickets and more. During the workshop, you will gain hands-on knowledge on how to create, use and share a Padlet with your class.

Using Kahoot and Quizizz for Assessment
About the Workshop: Do you want to check your students' understanding after teaching a lesson or conduct a formative assessment but want to move away from some traditional activities? Join us as we explore two game-based platforms, Kahoot and Quizizz to create engaging lessons, conduct formative assessments, assign homework, and have other interactions with your students in a captivating way. During the workshop, you will gain hands-on knowledge on how to create assessments using Kahoot and Quizizz.

Using Canva and Adobe Creative to Design Engaging Instructional Materials and Activities
About the Workshop: Learn how to design visually engaging instructional materials and project-based activities with Canva. Canva is a graphic design tool that works to simplify the process of digital design. The tool offers users the opportunity to create professional-looking posters, slideshows, images, event flyers, resumes, cards, certificates, infographics, and other media. The tool allows students to design visuals to showcase their knowledge in unique ways.

Teaching and Learning with Gamification
About the Workshop: In this session you’ll learn how to integrate video games into your instruction and receive plenty of resources to help along the way! What is Game-based learning vs Gamification vs Game Design vs Esports? Why is it important for us as educators to be aligned with this industry that is so relevant to the day-to-day lives of our students. And get your students to participate in the annual Minecraft Battle of the Boroughs while earning your badges in the Minecraft Teacher Academy.

Google Workspace (Classroom)/EdTech Tools for Education Workshop Series

Additionally, we'll discuss several strategies for leveraging AI (artificial intelligence) to reduce your workload as a teacher and create more time for more exciting opportunities!

Scratch for Learning: Empowering Education Through Coding Workshop Series
This 10-hour hybrid workshop series is designed for educators who want to integrate Scratch into their teaching to foster creativity, computational thinking, and problem-solving skills. Through a mix of live online sessions and asynchronous modules, participants will explore the fundamentals of Scratch programming and discover engaging ways to apply it across different subjects.
What to Expect:
- Introduction to Scratch – Learn the basics of block-based coding.
- Creative Coding Projects – Develop interactive stories, animations, and games.
- Cross-Curricular Integration – Explore how Scratch can enhance subjects like math, science, and storytelling.
