FAFSA Code: 007022
TAP Code: 1412

Your eligibility for SUMMER 2009, FALL 2009 and SPRING 2010 federal and NY State financial aid can only be determined by filing the 2009-2010 FAFSA. You can ensure successful completion of your FAFSA and TAP applications by following the steps below.

FAFSA application process

  • Gather your family’s 2008 federal and NYS Tax Returns. Depending upon your family’s circumstances, other documentation may also be used in the completion of the FAFSA. If you have not yet filed your tax returns, we suggest you wait until you have completed them. You can calculate your family’s non-tax income (social security, SSI, public assistance, retirement pension, etc…) from 2008 award letters.
  • Obtain your federal FAFSA PIN. While you do not need a PIN in order to file a FAFSA, you will need your financial aid PIN in order to file a "Renewal FAFSA" or to sign either application electronically. To obtain your PIN, go to http://www.pin.ed.gov. If your parents must sign your FAFSA, they will each need a PIN, too.
  • Complete the 2009-10 FAFSA at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.
  • Do not forget to enter Lehman's FAFSA college code: “007022.”
  • At the end of the FAFSA form, if you do not have a PIN, print the signature page, sign and mail it.
  • Do not forget to "Submit" your FAFSA application.

TAP/APTS application filing options:

After you have submitted the FAFSA on line, you will be shown a FAFSA Confirmation Page, which contains a link marked "for NYS residents only." Select that option in order to file your TAP application online. Make sure that Lehman College's TAP code is entered: “1412.”

OR

“Cut and paste” the following link into your browser: https://www.tapweb.org/totw/. It will take you to the TAP application website.

What Next?

Within 4 days of submitting your FAFSA (14 days if you do not sign the FAFSA with a PIN), you will receive a paper Student Aid Report (SAR), or an e-mail link that will take you to the federal website where you can print out your SAR. Review your SAR carefully. Lehman College will also receive an electronic version of your FAFSA. After the College reviews your FAFSA, you may be asked to document the accuracy of the information (“Verification”). You must respond to all of the Financial Aid Office’s requests for clarification and documents promptly. Failure to respond to quickly will result in the delay or denial of financial assistance. All documentation must be submitted in person. All mailed and faxed documentation will be returned to the sender.
