Hawks Down Lightning In Battle For First Place

Bronx, NY- Pitching was on display on the Lehman College South Field, as Hunter College defeated Lehman College 10-2, and 9-0 in women's softball. The game was a battle of two of the last three undefeated teams in the conference.

Lehman (8-3, 2-2 CUNY) struggled at the plate for most of the game. In game one, sophomore Stephanie Palmer scored the first run of the game in the first inning, giving Lehman a 1-0 lead. Timely hitting by Hunter saw the Hawks respond with six runs over the next two innings to open up the game for the Hawks.

Junior Olga Torres allowed ten runs, and gave up just eight hits in the loss for Lehman.

The second game saw freshman ace Meghan Moran get roughed up for the Lightning. Moran allowed nine runs on six hits, and was hampered by allowing ten walks in the outing.
