Lehman's Daniel Gurdak Looks To Continue At Oxford

Daniel Gurdak is the epitome of achievement. At the young age of 22, he has already received many distinguished awards, along with accomplishing many personal goals. It’s no wonder that Oxford University has accepted him into their prestigious school. This is an immense victory because the academic standards for the school are very high and difficult to obtain.

There are only a small percentage of Lehman College graduates who have gone on to such a prestigious school for their graduate studies, and the Lehman Track & Field team is proud to call him a member.

With an outstanding index of 3.9, Daniel majors in Biology and Environmental Science. He has traveled to Australia, where he studied for a semester. In that semester, he worked in Rain Forests and visited many botanical conservatories which broadened

his experience in this field, the area he wishes to build his career in. He is also a member of two exceptional honor societies, Phi Beta Kappa and Golden Key. He is a finalist for the Rhodes Scholarship, an academic scholarship that funds graduate study at Oxford University. He received the Ranger Award; the highest rank which is awarded to youth members for advancement and service with a focus on outdoor skill proficiency and leadership.

These are only a few of his many impressive awards.
Along with his many student and community activities, he is one of the captains of the Lehman Cross Country, Indoor, and Outdoor Track & Field Team where Daniel has continued to have success. As he finishes off his season, and prepares for his successful future at Oxford University, his teammates and his coaches wish him all the best.
