A Secret Garden: There's No Place Like Home, 2006
Faceted glass in platform windscreens and mezzanine

Visiting the New York Botanical Garden has been a way for artist, Skowmon Hastanan to revisit Bangkok, the home she left in 1973.  Here, looking at flowers and fruits, she recalls their Thai names and imagines herself back home in her old garden in Bangkok. This is the inspiration for the glass windscreens at the 233rd Street Station. They depict vibrant images of fish, flowers, and greenery, providing commuters with a colorful and contemplative scene.

A Secret Garden: There's No Place Like Home transforms the station into an oasis that gives energy and rejuvenation to the busy traveler.
