License to Dream is a series of photographs which focuses on children and their inalienable right to dream of the future, to define their identity, and to find a place in history and pursue happiness. The images include students participating in a peaceful rally in response to the Rodney King verdict and children greeting Nelson Mandela during his visit to New York as well as common, everyday activities that give rise to expectations and aspirations. Through the recording of children from various backgrounds and participating in a multitude of activities, the artist invites the viewer to make their own mark in history and see value in each childhood moment.
