• Exploratorium: This art-science museum posts some of the most stimulating discussions about real issues anywhere. See the museum's interactive examination of the ethics of bioengineering, which complemented its "Diving Into the Gene Pool" exhibition. (8/95)

  Every museum site should aspire to such quality. The diverse collections of this museum are presented in a well-organized fashion and the icing on the cake is its searchable online image database. FAMSF is working to digitize it's entire collection for your browsing pleasure.

• The National Gallery of Canada
  A technically-savvy site available in both French and English. Don't miss the online counterpart to the current exhibition "The Ingenious Machine of Nature."
• National Museum of the American Indian

• New York Public Library: The world's best library does it again. The breathtaking "Global Library" exhibition, for instance, includes its own web tour. (4/96)
• Smithsonian Institution: This multi-museum site comes complete with slide-shows and the like.
• University Art Museum, Berkeley : Serious exhibition-related material--catalog-essay-excerpts and images--from recent shows including "In A Different Light" (an exhibition of queer sensibility in 20th century American art) and the drawings of Louise Bourgeois, the latter complete with the artist's real-time commentary in her own voice.
