Player of The Week - Carri Raffone, John Jay Jr., 3B, East Islip, NY

The 2001 CUNYAC Player of the year, Raffone hit 26-35 (.743) for the week, leading the Bloodhounds to an 8-1 mark. The 5'2 dynamo also drove in 25 runs, scoring 22 times herself, including five times on round-trippers, as Jay swept double-headers against Baruch, Medgar Evers and Brooklyn. The East Islip HS alum also had 13 straight hits during the week. This year, she leads CUNYAC in batting at .577.

Pitcher of The Week - Heather Stewart, John Jay Sr., P, Brooklyn, NY

A 6-1 mark on the week makes Stewart (Madison HS) an easy selection. A former CUNYAC Pitcher of the Year, Stewart threw 39 innings, getting 40 strikeouts and six complete games, sporting a 3.00 ERA for the span. On the season, Stewart is 11-7 with a 3.66 ERA and 78 strikeouts.

Rookie of The Week - Kim Grabkowitz, John Jay Fr., CF, Bayside, NY

An exciting freshman, Grabkowitz rounds out Jay's sweep of the weekly awards, batting 20-35 (.571) for the nine-game span. To top it off, the Bayside HS graduate hit five home runs, including one in each of the 'Hounds last four games. Kim is second on the John Jay squad with a .510 batting average.
