Hunter Opens Up NCAA Tournament On Friday

Fresh off the school's third straight CUNYAC / Sprint PCS Championship, Hunter College will represent the conference in the NCAA Championships beginning Friday, May 9th in a six-team Regional, hosted by Ramapo College in Mahwah, NJ.

The #4 seeded Hawks (22- 11-1) will play the first game of the threeday double-elimination tournament against #5 seed Muhlenberg College (14- 19) from Allentown, Pennsylvania at 10:00 am. The winner of that game plays the #1 seed, Ramapo (30-5) at 2:00 pm the same day. Also at this Regional is #2 Salisbury University (37-3-1), #3 Moravian College (29-8) and the #6 seed, the United States Merchant Marine Academy, from nearby Kings Point, NY (16-23). Hunter, Moravian, Muhlenberg and USMMA earned their NCAA bids by winning their respective Conference Tournaments, while Ramapo and Salisbury were selected as at-large teams.

The winner of the regional will advance to the eight-team NCAA Division III Women's College World Series the following weekend in Salem, Virginia.
