Player of The Week - Vince Salomson, Hunter Jr., #3 flight, Astoria, NY


The junior Hawk helped to keep Hunter unbeaten in conference play as they knocked off CCNY 6-3 and Lehman 7-2. Salomson (Archbishop Molloy HS) was 2-0 on the week in singles play as he beat CCNY’s Iara Cardo 6-2, 6-2 and was the lone winner against New Paltz (6-3,6-1). He combined with Lev Slootsky to beat Lehman’s doubles team 10-5 as Hunter improved to 5-0.
 

Rookie of The Week - Rich Rappaport, Brooklyn Jr., #4 flight, Brooklyn, NY

A junior who has never played for the Bridges is off to quite a start. Rappaport, out of Lincoln High in Brooklyn is 4-0 on the year in singles play and 2-0 in doubles. Rappaport won his lone match last week, a 6-0,6-0 pounding of CCNY’s Sunil Kumta, pushing his mark at #4 singles to 3-0 on the season.
