Player of The Week - DINO DISAVERIO, John Jay Jr., #1 flight, Queens, NY


A third year starter for the Bloodhounds, DiSaverio pushed his CUNYAC record to 3-1 with straight set wins over CUNYAC opponents Brooklyn (Eugene Girshtel, 6-3, 6-4) and York (Ramon Smart, 6-1, 6-2) last week. In addition, the 6'0" alum of Humanities High School and his doubles partner Vitaly Zubri topped the #1 teams in those two matches, beating Brooklyn, 10-5 and York, 10-1.
 

Rookie of The Week - GREGORY NIXON, CCNY Fr., #4 flight, Brooklyn, NY

A more recent graduate of Humanities High School, Nixon was undefeated on the week with a 2-0 mark as well. First, the 6'0" freshman beat Lehman's Omar Todd, 6-0, 6-0, then in a non-conference tilt, he beat Steve Sauser of Stevens Tech, 7-5, 6-2 at #3 singles. In doubles, he paired with Sunil Kumta to beat Lehman (Polanco and Whittington), 10- 0 at third doubles.
