Player of The Week
Maureen Mcbride, Hunter, Sr. #1 flight, Ridgefield, CT
Now with a 22-0 career CUNY singles
record in three seasons, McBride can relish
her new title as Hunter's all-time
winningist player. By beating Baruch's
Jana Derjavina 10-2 last week, she gained
her 37th career win, topping her coach,
Jocelyn Cruz. A two-time CUNYAC champ
at the #2 flight, the 5'10 senior will try to
win the ultimate prize at the National Tennis
Center this weekend.

Rookie of The Week
Stella Rubina, Brooklyn Fr. #1 flight, Brooklyn, NY
Rubina, a native of Tashkent, Uzbekistan
will be McBride's main competition in the
CUNY Championships this weekend,
bringing in a 6-0 singles (4-0 CUNY) and
5-0 doubles (4-0 CUNY) record into the
fray. The two top seeds did not face off
during the regular season, as Rubina
missed the Hunter match. Last week, she
was 2-0 in singles, beating her opponents
from City Tech and Yeshiva.
