Player of The Week

Jennifer Super Jennifer Super, Brooklyn Sr. / #3 flight / Rockville Centre, NY

The Bridges and their senior leader Super enjoyed a 3-0 week as a team and individually. Super (Seneca Valley HS) knocked off Nadine Newbold of CSI 6-4,6- 0 and Maria Javier 6-2,6-1 as Brooklyn won both matches 8-1 and moved into second place in CUNYAC. She completed the perfect week with a 10-6 pro-set win over Polytechnic's Shanna Palmer. BC has now captured 17 of the last 18 singles matches versus conference opponents.

Rookie of The Week

Stella Rubina, Brooklyn Fr. / #1 flight / Brooklyn, NY

Rubina, a native of Tashkent, Uzbekistan was perfect as well for the Bridges with 2-0 singles and 2-0 doubles record. She knocked off Lehman's #1 Diana Olaya 6- 4,6-3 before disposing of Marianna Mejia of Polytechnic 10-0. She also combined with Super to win both doubles matches for Brooklyn. With two CUNY matches to go, the Bridges look poised to keep the #2 spot in CUNY standings.
