TANIA BLANCO, HUNTER
Jr. / C / 6'0" / Bronx, NY
In a rematch of the 2002 CUNYAC/ Con Edison
Tournament final, the Hawks dominated Lehman
behind the first of three double-doubles by
Blanco with 12 points and 15 rebounds. The
graduate of St. Catharine’s High School averaged
15.0 points and 12.7 boards in a 3-0 week
for the defending champions, while shooting
.486 from the field and .643 from the free throw
line. Currently she’s scoring 11.2 ppg and tops
CUNYAC in rebounding at 13.2 per game.
Rookie Of The Week
KELLY WEISMULLER, BROOKLYN
Fr. / F / 6'0" / Brooklyn, NY
Weismuller wins the Rookie honor for the third
time this season after posting 40 points, 22 rebounds
and eight blocks on 17-25 field goal
shooting in Brooklyn’s first conference win in
two seasons. Even though the Bridges dropped
their two other games last week, the James
Madison HS alum was remarkable with 23 points
and 17 rebounds against Polytechnic and 21
points and 11 caroms versus SUNY Purchase.
She now stands third in CUNYAC in points (20.2)
and second in rebounds (12.1).
