History and evolution of technology, structure, and regulatory philosophies of broadcast journalism, newspaper journalism, programming and policies in radio, broadcast television, cable television, and web-based digital content. The growth of news-gathering organizations, network programming, media convergence, and evolution of print media from the penny press to modern-day newspaper publishing and online multimedia journalism.
