ACU (HIA) 318: Roman Archaeology and Topography.
3 hours, 3 credits. Study of the major pre-Roman sites of Italy, including the cities of Etruria. The development of the City of Rome during the Republican period, and the investigation of such sites as Pompeii and Herculaneum. The spread of Romano-Hellenistic urban civilization throughout the Mediterranean region during the empire. A detailed study of the topography of imperial Rome.
