AAS 268: The Economics of Poverty.
3 hours, 3 credits. A course offering an objective evaluation and analysis of the nature of poverty in America as it relates to African Americans. The many economic, as well as social, political, and institutional, causes and characteristics of poverty will be explored. Various aspects of antipoverty programs are considered. The course also reviews recent theories of alleviating poverty in Black urban areas.
