Program Overview
The Herbert H. Lehman Center for Student Leadership Development is open to all Lehman College students. It is designed to help students assess themselves as leaders, including their responsibility to manage groups effectively and work toward purposeful change. Our mission is to help students realize, develop and carry out their potential to do great things by serving their community and society as a whole. We facilitate student development by hosting workshops, conferences, retreats, group discussions and campus-wide events. Our focus is to assist students in exploring and developing
- The basics of various leadership styles and theories
- The Social Change Model of Leadership Development
- Incorporate ethics and integrity into management principles
- Develop the skills necessary for empowering and motivating a group
- Embrace diversity as a core principle of leadership
- Integrate the idea of service- learning into the overall concept of leadership development
- Identify ways to regulate stress and balance responsibilities and
- Develop a personal approach to effective leadership.
