Lehman College has been designated a U.S. Federal Government Depository Library
since 1968, which means that selective federal government publications since that date are made available for public access. The Library receives approximately 21% of the publications issued by the federal government and an additional small number from New York State. These publications are cataloged and distributed throughout the Library in the same categories as books and periodicals.

        A small documents area is located on the main level, next to the Reference stacks, with specialized indexes to government publications. Government information may also be obtained through searchable online databases. Government publications are regularly received on topics relating to recent legislation, Congress, Supreme Court decisions, the census, economics, history and public health.
