The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs serves as the administrator for the following compliance committees at Lehman College:
Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee
The Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) reviews all research conducted on animals at Lehman College. The IACUC is composed of researchers, veterinarians, administrators, and non-scientific members from Lehman College and the surrounding community.
Institutional Biosafety Committee
The Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) is a Lehman College committee responsible for reviewing and approving recombinant DNA research and research that involves biological materials and other potentially hazardous agents. The committee sets containment levels in accordance with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Guidelines and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. The IBC is composed of faculty researchers, an Environmental Health & Safety Officer, a Radiation Safety Officer, administrators, and two community representatives.
