Using Eugene O’Neill’s coming of age comedy, Ah Wilderness, as source of inspiration the students of Theatre crafted pieces that explore the epiphanic moments that move a teenager towards self-discovery and adulthood. The students are writing their own scenes and monologues dealing with various issues. Most of what they wrote are experience but they changed it up to make it autobiographical. This work would be call Coming of Age in New York City. Students are trained in basic acting techniques involving pantomime, voice, improvisation and characterization in order to create an authentic character portrayal.
