Convocation
Each fall, in celebration of the start of the new academic year, Lehman College holds its annual Academic Convocation to welcome students to Lehman College and to honor faculty and staff. There is a formal procession of the faculty in academic attire and a program that recognizes faculty and staff recipients of Lehman awards for excellence in teaching, research, and service and features a keynote speaker.
The Academic Convocation will take place on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Lovinger Theatre. A reception for faculty, students, and staff will immediately follow in the Faculty Dining Room.
Please encourage your students to attend the Convocation, as this first major event of the academic year is intended to introduce our students to the faculty and administrators and to make them feel they are at home at Lehman.
I encourage you to join with your colleagues in the formal procession of faculty members in cap and gown, which will open the Lehman Convocation. The faculty will assemble in the Green Room in the basement of the Speech and Theater Building beginning at 10:30 a.m.
