About the Special Counsel to the President
Welcome to the office of the Special Counsel. The office provides a wide variety of legal services and support to the President, Lehman College officials, departments and offices of the college, and related entities.
Mary Rogan, the college's Special Counsel and Labor Designee, serves as Lehman's Records Access Officer; Ethics Officer; Secretary of the Faculty Personnel and Budget; Secretary of the college Senate; and Liaison to the following: CUNY General Counsel, Senior Vice Chancellor for Legal Affairs, the University's office of Human Resources Management, and the office of Labor Relations. Mary Rogan also acts as a hearing officer, and represents the college in matters relating to employee disciplinary and grievance proceedings. The Special Counsel's responsibilities include, but are not limited to: litigation, compliance and contractual agreements, employment and labor law, the investigation of complaints, governance, immigration, employee grievances, student disciplinary appeals, and the provision of records inquired for or required at legal proceedings.
