Peer Educator Program

Program Description

The Peer Educator Program is a campus wide collaboration of ten programs and services offered through the Division of Student Affairs. The program is multi-faceted in which Peer Educators are trained in academic, career, personal/social and college competencies. Our goal is to provide an environment where Peer Educators are mentored in skills and competencies by professionals in their assigned program.

Peer Educators are required to attend monthly workshops geared towards enhancing their college experience and equipping them with essential tools such as leadership skills needed for the program and life beyond college. Topics explored in the workshops include enhancing cultural competencies, problem solving with individuals and strategies for academic success. Peer Educators are involved in numerous outreach activities and play a vital role in educating the campus on topics learned in the monthly workshops. In addition to working on campus Peer Educators participate in fun activities off campus to improve social skills and to bond as a group.
