Professor Thomas Spear Talks About Haitian Literature on PBS' Art Beat

Professor Thomas Spear (Languages and Literatures) speaks with Jeffrey Brown for PBS NewsHour's Art Beat about the rich history of Haitian literature. "It's a very strong literature, it's vibrant literature, and it has a very long tradition," says Professor Spear in this audio interview, "Conversation: Haitian Literature Is a Living Art." Professor Spear is an expert on contemporary French and Francophone literature. His website, île en île, is an online clearing house for information and cultural resources on the Francophone island nations, and now contains a series of interviews with contemporary authors from Francophone islands.
