EGGS Professor Researching Environmental Health Hazards
May 27, 2010
Professor Juliana Maantay (Environmental, Geographic, and Geological Sciences) presented her work on the impact of proximity to environmental health hazards and their sources at a symposium this spring sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The meeting explored why some populations, especially minority ones, are exposed to greater environmental pollution, which results in negative health impacts. Professor Maantay directs the Geographic Information Science (GISc) Program and Lehman's Urban GISc Lab.
A podcast of her presentation can be heard at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency website.
