cold and drizzly morning greeted this year's run/walk particpants, but the weather didn't dampen the spirit of the occasion or prevent Lehman's students, faculty and staff from completing their goal of raising money for the Childcare Center and Library. The event raised a total of $695, with the Cingular cell phone company donating $100 and t-shirts as well for the occasion.

With rain gear in hand, the group of almost 30 covered the 2.1 miles around the Jerome Park Reservoir. Some walked the stretch in a little over an hour and others, like Provost Anthony Garro, ran the course twice in just 22 minutes.

After the race, participants from the Nursing and Social Work Departments, as well as the Library and Children's Center gathered at the APEX for refreshments and the awarding of prizes. First-, second- and third-place runners and walkers earned medals, while others received Thanksgiving dinners, courtesy of a turkey raffle.
